I watched 6 Underground like two days ago, a Michael Bay straight-to-Netflix action movie. I’m not going to pretend it is a good movie, storytelling is vague, it is too long and has more issues. But... But... Basically the first 15-20 minutes, give or take, are just a lot of fun in one long car chase through Florence, Italy. The main star car is an Alf a Romeo Giulia in neon-green and IMHO it just looks damn mean and sexy sliding through the streets of Florence:

Of course, even the car chase has plenty of Michael Bay inserted. Explosions, cars being torn in half for no apparent reason. But I can still recommend it.

The overall film was good. About on the same level as Bad Boys. A popcorn flick.

You go in, switch off, and soak in the tension and the explosions.

In one part of the chase scene, you can see Ryan Renolds filming a video for his instagram.

That car chase was awful. The continuity on the green car. In one scene it had the whole left hand side scraped down and the wing mirror torn off, then the next scene it isn’t, then is, then isn’t, then is, then isn’t. Aaarrghghhhh.

But all in all a good film, easy viewing, lots of laughs.

Movie is so unrealistic. Everyone knows that Alfa would have broken down at some point, if it had even started. lol

Haha, yeah, that was quite obvious. But I still enjoyed the driving and action if you can look past the continuity screw ups. That Giulia was just born for scenes like this.

Yeah, it is definitely just a “brain off” action movie but even then there were some moments where my near dormant brain was like “that don’t make no sense, no sirreeeee”.

Melanie Laurent and Adria Arjona make up for a lot though...

I actually just watched a vlog done by some guys who did the parkour stunts in that movie. Interesting stuff . I have no interest in the movie itself but i love watching movie behind the scenes stuff.

I watched this on a flight, which is the perfect environment for such a dumb movie.

It spent entirely too much time in flashbacks of how each character joined the team, just to give them backstory so you’ll care about them a bit, except not every member of the team gets a meaningful flashback, and really, who cares about these characters even with their backstories?

The car chase with the Alfa has nothing to do with the plot other than give a reason for 7 to join the crew.

Then it’s all, “ok we gotta free the good brother,” and then “ok we gotta get the bad brother and replace him with the good brother,” and that’s the whole damn movie.

Oh, and of course these two brothers are the leaders of a fictional country that is for whatever reason a combination of Syria gassing its own people, and Dubai’s skyscrapers.

This movie was so dumb that the movie I watched on my return flight was 100x more intelligent, and this is the movie I watched on my return flight:
